FAQ — Antminer Shroud Kits
Which ASIC models are supported?
ALL Bitmain Antminer S19 and S21 Variants are supported with this kit, along with a few others:

S19, S19 Pro, S19j, S19j Pro, T19, S19 XP, S19j Pro+, S19K Pro, S19j Pro-A, S19 Pro-A, T19
S21, T21
Scrypt ASICS (L7) are also supported and have a 30mm PSU intake distance
Kadena Antminer KS3 are supported and should have a 90mm PSU intake distance
Is 3rd party firmware (Braiins, LuxOS, VNISH) recommended?
Absolutely — we strongly recommend using 3rd party firmware with your Antminer

Not only will your miner run more efficiently right from the start, but you have the ability to set custom wattage
  • In the summer months, we configure our ASICs to run between 1,700W — 2,300W for heat purposes
  • The the winter months, we configure our ASICs to run between 3,000W-3650W
  • These wattage customizations are simply not possible with stock bitmain firmware as it offers no ability to autotune your miner based on a provided or desired power draw.
It is even more crucial that aftermarket firmware is leveraged when you have older miners.
Oh and they have an option to 'disable fans' so that you don't even need to buy spoofers, for further $ savings

The main caveat to aftermarket firmware is the fee — anywhere from 2-3%
In our experience it is still well worth it every time as the efficiency gains and over/underclock ability is extremely valuable

We did an entire Blog post on this subject:

What is the Njord Board Fan Spoofer?

The Njord Cloudline board is basically a smart controller for your Bitmain miner fans, making them adjust speeds automatically to keep things cool without you needing to fiddle with settings. It cuts down on noise and saves on electricity, all while keeping your mining performance top-notch. Easy to install, it works with all air-cooled Bitmain miners, making your mining setup quieter, more efficient, and a lot cooler! 👍🏻

Are fan spoofers required? Are they included?
Fan spoofers are required when running stock Bitmain firmware with the stock 120mm fans removed

3rd party firmwares such as BraiinsOS+, LuxOS, HiveON etc offer "disable fans" or "immersion mode" features that makes the use of fan spoofers redundant and not needed.

By default they are usually NOT included
How do I remove the fans? Is it difficult?
It's very simple to remove the stock fans

This 1.5 minute youtube video goes over the process:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW7NlXcLu7s
Does the inline duct fan attach to the intake or exhaust?
BOTH — the fan can attach to either side and supports the option between a PUSH (Intake attached) or PULL (Exhaust attached)

The kit is designed for you to have flexibility based off your space and preference for simplified deployment

In our limited testing, PUSH (intake attachment) seems to have superior results whilst also preserving the EC motor of the inline duct fan. This is because with PULL, the fan motor is inevitably the victim of your ASIC's high heat dissipation and would imagine this would cause a shortened lifespan.
Do I need to remove the PSU (Power Supply) fan?
NO, this is optional

The PSU fan is not very loud anyways and generally not worth the time and effort
FAQ — Whatsminer Deluxe Shroud
Does this work with Iceriver KS Models?
Yes, Njord is compatible with all IceRiver KSx miners, but it requires 4 fan extension cables (2 sets) found at the link below:

https://amzn.to/3uae42b
What models are supported?
All Whatsminer M30 and M50 variant models are compatible with these shrouds
How do I remove and disable fans?
Whatsminer offers it's own proprietary 'Liquid' firmware that disables fans and removes any corresponding errors
The best part is it's a 0% dev fee and allows you to set custom wattage!!

I have my 4x M30S++ on the Liquid firmware and they've been humming along for over a year now
Do I need fan spoofers?
No, you do not. The Liquid firmware does this for you automatically by disabling the fans
Do I need to remove the PSU (Power Supply) fan?
NO, this is optional

The PSU fan is not very loud anyways and generally not worth the time and effort
Can I wall mount my miner with this?
YES, these can be screwed into your wall with the provided industrial screws
How do I monitor chip temps?
I use Lincoin Pool in tandem with Lincoin Agent (remote management software)
It requires having a separate PC running on the same network so that's it's constantly gathering data on your miner(s)

Another option you have is Foreman.mn which still requires a PC on the same network but more or less does the same thing as the above. You can use existing pool

What's cool about both of these options is that you have the ability to change your power wattage based on the time day — this is fantastic when you're on a time of use electricity plan so you can overclock when it's cheapest and underclock when it's most expensive

Easiest method with zero setup is that you can always check your board/chip temps on the main GUI via the IP address of the miner
